A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a spelling error. The disadvantage of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam messages, but this issue can be fixed by using anti-spam protection software. It is also essential to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound email messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

You’ll be able to set up a catch-all e-mailbox without effort in case you’ve got a web hosting plan with our company. The Email Manager tool in our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel is feature-loaded, yet stunningly simple to use, and it will enable you to enable various options, including the catch-all one, with just a couple of clicks of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have will be displayed in alphabetical order in this section and on the right side of each one of them you’ll notice a small-size "Catch-all" icon. Clicking it once will enable this option, clicking on it for a second time will disable it. Since you can have only one such mailbox per domain, our system will inform you if you already have another mailbox with this feature activated or if you have active email forwarding.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all feature can be activated easily in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will see a small logo handily situated right next to each one. With only a single mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with the option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature through the context menu that will appear. If any of the preconditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will notify you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
